Use of church premises
This information on this page is available as a leaflet which can be downloaded in pdf (Acrobat) format. Download information leaflet (116Kb). You can also download a Booking Form and a copy of the Users' Agreement.
As part of our service to the local community, we offer the use of our premises to individuals and organisations for events that are in keeping with the general aims of a Christian Church.
Organisations, groups or individuals who have not previously used the premises should refer to the information on this website, including the Booking Form and the Users' Agreement.
All enquiries should be directed to Mr Robert Payne, 26 Ambleside, Rugby, CV21 1JB. Tel 01788 537754 or email hallbookings@rugbyurc.org.uk
The premises consist of a main hall and three smaller rooms, the location and size of which are shown on the hall layout plan. The kitchen in the front building is fully equipped. The kitchenette in the rear building is suitable for making tea and washing up. There is also a separate Youth Hall used most evenings by the Church's uniformed organisations and on some mornings and afternoons by outside playgroups. All rooms have 13-ampere sockets. There is a private car park.
Although the premises are regularly cleaned, there is no caretaker, so users have to borrow a key and arrange tables and chairs to suit their requirements. They are expected to leave the premises as they found them, in good order for the next user. All rubbish and surplus food should be taken away. The key can be obtained from the address given above and should be collected when the user is about to go to the premises. It must be returned immediately after the premises have been vacated.
Bookings are accepted on the understanding that an appropriate donation is made to church funds. Suggested contributions are set out below. Payments should be sent to the address given below, with cheques made payable to Rugby United Reformed Church. If a receipt is required please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
Please note that smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises nor may alcohol be sold.
The Church shall not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury incurred by any person or persons while on the premises during a booking.
Based on the cost of equivalent accommodation elsewhere in Rugby, it is suggested that contributions for the use of the premises, including the kitchen/kitchenette, should be:
| Room(s) | Morning | Afternoon | Evening | Morning and afternoon |
Afternoon and evening |
All day |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| St Margaret's Hall | £45 | £45 | £50 | £80 | £90 | £120 |
| Lounge | £16 | £16 | £24 | £28 | £35 | £48 |
| All the above * | £60 | £60 | £70 | £100 | £125 | £160 |
| Albert Room | £20 | £20 | £30 | £35 | £45 | £60 |
| Youth Hall | £20 | £20 | £30 | £35 | £45 | £60 |
| Church | £40 | £40 | £100 | £70 | £130 | £165 |
- * Choir vestry included at no extra charge if Hall and Lounge booked together. (Not available separately.)
- Church not available for commercial arrangements only for charitable, Christian or not-for-profit organisations. Additional payment (£50 ???) may be required if chairs are not left in same format as existing.
- These suggested contributions do not apply to commercial users who should increase all figures by 30%
- Youth Hall and Church require a heating supplement suggested at £15 per session flat rate - this is as much to cover the effort of someone having to make a special visit to set it for each extra user, as for the fuel consumed.
Emergency telephone: The church telephone (Rugby 535201) may be used in emergency. There are two instruments, one in the Minister's Vestry and one in the Church Office.
